Time goes quickly

I can already feel that it’s going to be important for me to try and schedule some time for writing these posts. I was quite surprised to realise that it was already a week since I put up the first!

I feel like I have a lot on at the moment. In the summer I was offered the opportunity of a solo exhibition in the exhibition space at the art school where I work. At the time it felt like too good an opportunity to turn down but it does mean that I am temporarily squeezed for time as the show opens in January. It also feels like I am starting the course slightly out of sync as I am very much in synthesising mode at the moment (I probably need 15 paintings for the space). Talking about this today on the weekly Zoom was interesting as it made me think about the way that I tend to work in district phases; research>experimentation>synthesis. I think this was a process that I picked up on my undergraduate degree and whilst it sits comfortably with me (I’m a pretty ordered person) I wonder if this is something that I might want to try and disrupt in the coming months. It would certainly make me uncomfortable!
